This homemade vinaigrette salad dressing is super easy to make, takes less than 5 minutes to throw together and only requires 6 ingredients! My kind of recipe!
Store bought dressings-
Check out the ingredients in your store bought salad dressing, chances are you don’t know most of the ingredients. Most dressings have additives to extend the shelf life or use canola/vegetable oils as those oils are cheaper to produce (in addition to being highly processed). I stopped buying dressing after becoming more aware of the ingredients being utilized.
There are store bought dressings that have better ingredients, but expect to pay a higher price. I prefer to make my own. It tastes fresher and really is simple to do.
About this salad dressing-
Feel free to play around with the ingredients – add fresh or dried herbs, adjust the amount of salt, pepper and garlic, swap out apple cider vinegar for lemon, and so on. There are many possibilities when it comes to making your own dressing.
Storing your dressing-
Store this dressing in an airtight container (I use these mason jars) and keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. If you are using fresh ingredients such as herbs or lemon, just make sure to check it prior to using, as it doesn’t always make it to two weeks.
You may notice the oil hardens when refrigerated. This is normal. Just set on your counter 10-15 minutes and it will melt back down to a liquid. You could also run the jar under warm water.
Use this dressing on salads, veggie bowls or use with fresh veggies!
